Our Ministries — Kanaabo Evangelistic Ministries

Everything else began here.

Mass evangelistic crusades in over 51 nations, and the Kanaabo School of Evangelists that puts the same work into other hands. The children’s home, the medical centre and the schools all grew out of this — not the other way round.

The root

An evangelist first. Everything else followed.

Drake Kanaabo has ministered in over 51 nations around the world, doing mass evangelistic crusades and training evangelists. He and Josephine serve and fellowship with their home church on Bussi Island, Uganda, and have been part of it since 1982.

Preaching came first. The orphanage, the health centre and the schools exist because the preaching kept walking into places where children had no one, mothers had no clinic and pupils had no fees. This is the trunk; the rest are branches.

  • Mass open-air crusades, hosted with the churches of the town
  • The Kanaabo School of Evangelists, training local preachers
  • Every decision handed to a congregation that will keep it
The work

Three things, done together.

Preach to the crowd. Train the preacher. Plant the new believer where they will grow.

Mass crusades

Multi-night open-air meetings in towns and cities, prepared with the local churches and preached plainly for a decision.

The School of Evangelists

Training that hands local believers the message, the method and the confidence to preach in their own language and their own street.

Follow-up & handover

Decision cards, follow-up visits and handover to a nearby congregation, so a night of response becomes a life of walking with Christ.

Kanaabo School of Evangelists

One preacher is a season. A hundred trained evangelists is a generation.

The School of Evangelists exists so the work does not depend on one voice. Believers are taught the message, taken out to preach it under supervision, and sent back to their own regions to keep going.

  • The message — preaching the gospel clearly and without ornament
  • The method — open air, house to house, market and campus
  • The call — leading someone to a decision and to a church
  • The field — supervised practice with the team on live outreach

Intakes are announced as they are scheduled. Write to the office to be told when the next one opens.

For host churches

How a crusade comes together.

A crusade is never a visit. It is a season of work with the churches of a town, and it leaves them stronger than it found them.

1 · Invitation

A local church or fellowship of churches invites the ministry and agrees the dates and ground.

2 · Preparation

Counsellors are trained, prayer is mobilised, permissions and sound are arranged with the host committee.

3 · The meetings

Several nights of open-air preaching, with an appeal for a clear decision at every service.

4 · Handover

Every decision recorded and passed to the nearest willing church, with follow-up agreed before the team leaves.

Questions

What host churches usually ask.

If your church is thinking about hosting, these are the first things worth knowing.

Who can invite the ministry?

Any local church, fellowship of churches or ministry able to host a crusade or a school of evangelism. One church can start the conversation on behalf of several.

What does a host church provide?

Usually the ground and the permissions, a local organising committee, counsellors for the appeal, and prayer cover in the weeks beforehand.

Who covers the costs?

Costs are shared between the host and the ministry’s partners. The office will talk it through with you honestly before anything is agreed.

How far ahead should we plan?

The earlier the better — preparation, prayer and counsellor training all take time. Send your dates and the office will tell you what is possible.
