Our Ministries — Osanidde Children’s Home
A home, not an institution.
Osanidde is a child’s project: an orphanage that is home to 160 orphaned children, gathered from the poverty and HIV-stricken islands of Lake Victoria.

The model
Sixteen houses. Ten children each. One House Mama.
Osanidde children’s home has 16 houses that accommodate 10 children per house and a female caretaker — a House Mama who lives with them.
It is a deliberate choice. A child who has lost both parents does not need a dormitory and a rota; they need a small household, a table they sit at every evening, and one adult who knows their name, their school marks and their moods.

Where they come from
The islands of Lake Victoria.
The children are gathered from the poverty and HIV-stricken islands in Lake Victoria — fishing communities where a parent’s death can leave a child with no one, and where the nearest school or clinic is a boat ride away.
